Competition results

Saturday's Medal 3

Well done to Al Makin for firing an excellent gross 75 (nett 65) to win Saturday's Medal 3 and bring his handicap down to 8.9. John Munnery rolled back the years for a 66 and Jason Moran was as reliable as ever with a 68. It was then Nigel Taylor, Paul Gilbert, Paul Simpson and Mike Kirchin who completed the pack of players finishing with scores in the 60s. The CSS of the day was 69 and eleven twos were recorded.

Thursday's Texas Scramble

Congratulations to Pat Cleary, Sally Wright and Barbara Spark for winning last Thursday's texas scramble with 61.7. In a texas scramble competition when playing in threes, the handicaps are combined then divided by six and are then rounded to one decimal point. Freda Hunt, Judy Pinnington and Gillian Healey were in second place with 66 points and third place, with 68.5 points, went to Terri Broadbent, Mary Cockbain and Janet grant.

Pro Am

If You're Lucky...

As things stand the Hale GC Pro Am on Saturday 24th June is fully subscribed, which is brilliant. Things can happen though and there might be a late withdrawal so should you wish to go on the reserve list, please let me know. It's always a great day.

Coaching news

The Ball Doesn't Care...

Last week I mentioned a golf author and blogger called Adam Young whose articels I have really enjoyed reading, with last week's recommendation being the "Gear Effect". I promise I won't mention him in every newsletter but his post this week is as good as his written. As a coach, the text had me nodding and punching the air in agreement throughout..... ok so the second bit's a little fib but you get my drift!

Click here to read the article, but for those of delicate nature, please be warned..... he uses some profanity in this post.
