FJ Contour Series Shoes Give A Garmin This Fathers Day - 2017
ProQuip Pro-Flex WaterproofsPING Complete Equipment Solution 2017

Greetings golfers,

The clubhouse has been completed and mighty fine it looks too. The official opening took place on Sunday and there was a super turnout for it as the photo below shows.

It's been four years in the planning and making and so many people have worked tirelessly on the project. I'm wary of saying any names in case I miss anyone out, but all those involved know who they are!! Without such commitment these things would never see the light of day so well done on a fabulous job.

I've now moved into the new Pro Shop and just re-acquainting myself with much of my stock. So it's bye bye to the portacabin...which I won't be too sorry to see the back of!! Please pop in to have a look round.

Competition news

Unfortunately the weather didn't seem to think the clubhouse opening weekend was anything special though as heavy rains prevented Medal 4 from taking place. A new date will announced shortly.

Just a reminder that there are spaces available in this Saturday's Gentleman Captain's Prize, so if you haven't signed up already please do so and support Cliff.

The Ladies Flag competition went ahead on Thursday and was won by Louise Gerald. Well done Louise! She can be seen pictured receiving her prize from Helen Davies and lady captain Pat Jefferies.

Congratulations go to Tiff Fielden, Janet Grant, Chris Marsh and Sally Kurton for winning the Cheshire Quad Am played at Disley Golf Club with 76 points. The format was stableford and the best two scores from four. Apparently Janet stepped up to the plate on the 18th to seal the victory by hitting a brilliant third shot into the 18th to four feet and set up a birdie for four points!

Tour news

Away from HGC, it's the US Open which is the mens second golf major of 2017. It's being played at Erin Hills in Wisconsin. There have been complaints about the severity of the rough and so it has been cut back in parts. Rory McIlroy doesn't think that was the right thing to do so let's see what drama unfolds as the tournament progresses then!

Shop news

Has anyone lost a right handed PING G20 pitching wedge with a steel shaft?

If so I have it (safe and sound) in the Pro Shop.

Stop and think about it…
